Resting among the Dandelions by Patty Gross

I was walking in the woods with my constant companion, Drzl, on a warm sunny morning. Then I noticed she was no longer beside me or within an area where I could see her. After a short walk I found her sunning herself in a meadow filled with dandelions and other lovely wildflowers. The meadow is near the shore of the Northern Bay which is located by the small village of Penobscot, Maine. The seabreeze was coming into shore, so Drzl was very happily taking in the scent of the ocean.

I am a lady who lives in the woods along the shore of Maine. My cottage is shared with my artist husband, David, and our sweet half greyhound, Drzl (pronounced Drizzle.) I have a passion for finding early morning sunrays falling in the woods, and for scenes filled with lights and shadows. All of nature is one huge palatte of colors and stunning beauty here in our woods, and each season has its own element of loveliness. The winter season is especially interesting as the heavy snows fall on the furs, pines, and all species of evergreens.
