"R-Evolve" is one in my series of human/fossil/machine hybrids. It was created for the Joyride show in New York City (June 18-22, 2009) which happens in conjunction with the international Bicycle Film Festival.

Jud Turner is a sculptor based in Eugene, Oregon USA, who was born in 1969. He works out of his studio, The Oblivion Factory, and creates sculpture using award winning sculptures using found objects and welded steel. "Jud Turner's range of sculpture is fairly varied in terms of subject matter, but this artist is consistent in his use of found objects and welded steel. Biology, technology, ancient fossils and modern machinery are all inspirations for Turner's work. Some of the very intricate pieces combine nature and mechanics, others involve the human anatomy, either symbolically or as part of the machinery.
