In the name of this colored pencil drawing, I pay homage to my favorite authors, C.S. Lewis and George MacDonald with the English/Scottish spelling of �Faerie�. I CANNOT BEGIN to tell you how much I love to ride in the snow and when it is cold. I love anticipating getting out and feeling the bracing cold. I love the horse�s warm muzzles and their breath condensing. Leather smells different in the cold � and my hair looks better in the cold! (haha) We rode along a trail that twisted among the trees and the snow dusted branches, creating this bewildering maze that receded into the sky. Things I have loved and experienced influence most of my artwork. So at the top of my list would be: My children, horses and cowboys and the Colorado Rockies where I lived and worked years ago. I currently teach drawing and watercolor to children, ages 8-13. I've lived a lot of places from Wisconsin to Virginia to Colorado to Oklahoma with about 7 other states in between. We now live on 10 beautiful acres we call Starwood Glen which we share with three horses: D’Artagnan the Arabian, Scout & Shadowfax, the two Missouri Fox trotters as well as our two cats, Legolas and Eowyn.
