You can sit on the grass for hours with the sun warming your face and just watch the water in the river flow gently past you

Sometimes, when the weather is still and the current is slow, you can hear the fish jumping out of the water and plopping back in. You can hear the birds during spring and summer its almost like the birds sing songs to you.

The trees are a brilliant green all summer and in spring they bloom with lovely white and pink colours. In autumn, they turn a bright red, yellow, and orange, lighting up the river, like a firework display.

Ian Mitchell is a photographer and digital artist who specialises in landscapes, seascapes and indoor architecture.
