I fell in love with this photo the day that Jan posted it. The cards are beautiful, frame able for a small space. I like that they have plenty of room for writing or doodling inside.

Love dragons this card was even better in person when it arrived.
As imposing as the rocks and mountains are I was particularly enthralled with the quiet places like this oasis and in stopping to watch a raven at length. There is an intimacy in the living, growing and flowing of nature when set amongst a vastness of monumental rock. It is best nourished in the heart and mind and spirit and can only be hinted at in photos and paint.
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. What a wonderful compliment. I would not have thought of the O'Keefe connection, but my mentor Sal Cascio (dean of 'water color') said I could be another O'Keefe during the days he saw me paint a lot...and the days when I did more abstract work. I myself spend a lot of a vacation around her former ranch. In some ways is seemed desolate and ordinary but very quiet and spiritual...as I felt in Zion.

So beautiful Betty. Can't believe there aren't already a page of comments. Has an O'Keefe feeling, but the water feels so wet and inviting, it has more aliveness, tangibility. (Spent much time at the retrospective of her work at the Whitney in 2009). v f
