'San Clemente View' Back in the late 60's John Lived on Chiquita St. in San Clemente CA. and spent many days surfing the local beaches. It was here that John first began his art career. Creating 'Resin' Paintings on wood planks, glass and mirrors. Because of his love of the area he frequented the pier on many occasions. One day in the 90's he set up his watercolor easel and painted this Classic Watercolor. This view is looking south towards 'T' Street on a warm sunny south swell day. The original Watercolor painting is on 100% All Cotton Archival 140LB Watercolor Paper and is now available for purchase.

Born a California 'Beach Bum', John's painting style is his natural method of artistically describing the visual beauty of the state he loves. He began painting as an off-shoot of his first occupation of glassing surfboards. He spent days glassing for Hobie and evenings mixing the translucent resins into abstract paintings. The switch to transparent watercolors was as easy as sliding into a four-foot south-swell at Doheny. John Dunn now paints original watercolor paintings of local Southern California scenery, painted in the style of such notable artists as Rex Brandt, George Post, Dong Kingman and Robert E. Wood.
