The saxophone offers waves of mellow and sultry sounds, like life. I penned this in 1969 as an exploration in ink drawing and brushing, using one color to reflect the blend of man and his instrument.
I began drawing in my native France, at the age of 11, cartoon copies and friends' portraits and animals. I came to paint with oil paints over other media. My subjects have been varied over 4 decades, first inspired by my father's doodles, plus religious imagery, Walt Disney studio artists and countless published illustrators, I endeavored to make this my profession. I followed traditional art instruction starting in Junior HIgh, since arriving in Salinas, California. I attended San Jose State University to receive a B.S. in Graphic Design, with a concentration in Illustration. As my own visual objectives and commissions developed, so did the sizes of my work.
