When will I get my order???
I wasn't the only one under the pier this afternoon. I felt like I was invading a young bicycle rider's space when I reached this location. It appeared that he was taking a break from his ride under the pier, enjoying the shade and cool ocean breeze. A few minutes after setting up for this shot, a couple of young women joined us under the pier and set up a blanket and readied themselves for a picnic. The beach was not at all crowded. I think the majority of beach goers in-sight were under the pier.
Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier is a popular site for fishing and strolling located at 35 39th Place. Sport Fishing can be accessed at the end of the pier, as well as a snack stand and bait shop.
In 1908 the citizens of Belmont Heights asked the city to build a pier. The pier has been called the Grand Avenue Pier, the Belmont Heights Pier and Devil's Gate Pier in its history.
