Sebastian Inlet State Park is a Florida State Park located 10 miles south of Melbourne Beach and 6 miles north of Vero Beach, Florida. The Sebastian Inlet swimming cove has a depth of about 6 feet. My son was collecting shells as he waded around the shallows. He didn't notice the pair of great white herons behind him. One of the was wading in the water. One of them stood near a big boulder and watched him.

I am not sure why the big boulders are there. They are apparently put there deliberately to protect the cove. The deep fast waters of the Sebastian Inlet are on the other side of the rocks. Lots of people like to dive for lobsters there.
