Sheltered From The Storms by Diannah Lynch

After several days of summer rains, a walk in the deep green woods had plenty of new growth that I found to be exceptionally beautiful.

The way these brown hooded mushrooms were standing together they reminded me of a mom protecting her babies from the storm, or the dark, or anything else they may have been afraid of.

My mom ~ sheltering my brother and me as we walked home in the dark, on a long country road, after visiting an aunt. And that even though we may have been afraid, we knew she would protect us from anything that would harm us.

That has been more than fifty years ago, and I remember that feeling of love and protection even now. I love my mother, may she rest in peace, and I love how God helps us see things.

That these three mushrooms would kindle memories of my childhood in such a positive way was a blessing for me.
