This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Artist's Description
I painted this watercolour in honour of my younger sister. Our family moved to a century farm in the 1960's. No running water, no electricity and no central heating. My sister hated it! She hated the bugs, the snakes, the outhouse and missed her city friend and missed sidewalks for hopscotch. She was constantly at the mercy of a gaggle of geese and tormented by a nasty rooster. When Curly came into her life, things changed. As a little lamb Curly needed to be bottle fed and that became my sister's chore. The soda bottle with a rubber glove finger for a nipple held its milk and my sister would feed Curly a couple of times a day. They became fast friends and the process of assimilating into farm life had begun. As a reward for being such a good "farm girl" my parents purchased a pair of black and silver cowboy boots for her to wear. They were her pride and joy. Oh.......how I wished I had a pair too! Thank you for viewing. Barbara McMahon

Glenna McRae
Sooo adorable!!! Beautiful watercolour illustration!!! Love your description of your younger sister and the farm!!! Great memories!!! F/ Voted
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Glenna! Despite being a quick illustration, my sister was tickled by it. We didn't believe the rooster was bothering her until one day we saw her running from the barn and the big rooster was standing on her head!!! Because she was small he must have thought she was fair game. Hmmm....maybe the next illustration!
