"Sieste" translates to "Midday Nap", a common tradition among the Latin cultures and still much appreciated in the South of France were the summer temperatures rises into the 90's. Shutters are being closed and the busing activity stop for a couple of hours. This picturesque village is called Port Grimaud. Built in the modern age over water channelled from the Golf of Saint Tropez in the South of France, the architecture highlights the Provencal way of life. Done in oils over an acrylic gel applied on canvas

I was born in France and raised in West Africa. I came to the United States in 1988, with a sense of opportunity to discover my potential. It is through painting that this has begun to manifest. Having experienced the influence of both cultures, French and African, it is here in this land that I am able to have clarity of their connection.
