Does she dare kiss this frog? Is he really a Prince? Some Princesses are just born skeptical....not quite sure if the Princes will kiss the frog or....what? I think she has other ideas.
This oil painting technique is similar to that used by Maxfield Parrish, one of my favorite illustrator/painters, done on board instead of canvas using many layers of transparent oil washes rather than thick opaque applications of oil paint and dimensional strokes as in wet-in-wet painting, plein air or impressionistic.
