Artist's Description
Skin tumour. Light micrograph of a section through a clear cell acanthoma, a benign (non-cancerous) skin lesion. This slow-growing tumour presents as a red or brown, dome-shaped nodule on the legs. The cause is unknown. Treatment is not necessary, but the nodule may be excised for cosmetic reasons. Magnification: x150 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
