My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. About Kate Ford
I was lucky to have 2 parents who encouraged their children --no matter what we wanted to do. I was encouraged to follow art from a very early age. I remember drawing at age 6, classes at 9. My Mom made sure I was went to the high school with the best art department in our area. I Graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a major in Printmaking. I learned the art of batik while in high school. I played with it off and on for the last 30 years or so. The technique uses wax as a resist and dye baths. I use several dyeing methods to achieve my artworks. Sometimes I paint it on, splash it on, vat dye, low water dye, the list is endless.
