This was my attempt to take photos of the partial solar eclipse in May of 2012. There was a fire about 40 miles away from the lake, so the diffuse light from both the fire and eclipse provided fantastic sunset colors over Watson Lake, in Central Arizona.
Dave’s photographic journey began when he saw the magic of a photograph emerge from a darkroom print while he was a photographer in high school. Since then he has experimented with his photographic style, which has evolved to a unique perspective on the beauty of the American Southwest. Dave strives to capture the essence of what he felt when the image was taken – from the softness of a sunset to the drama of a desert monsoon storm.
