Kananaskis Country is a collection of several Provincial Parks and wilderness areas in South-Western Alberta, Canada, south of Banff National Park. A wonderful mixture of Rocky Mountain ranges, valleys, forests,lakes and wildlife, with few access roads but many miles of hiking trails. Most of it is pristine wilderness,largely untouched and hopefully will stay that way. This was a beautiful day, but high winds at the peaks caused the drifting plumes of snow.

Hello to everyone. I'm Canadian, born and raised in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia,with a long career in radar,communications,and computers.Retired at 74. Scion of a Grand Banks schooner captain and a merchant mariner,I love the ocean. I started using 35mm.color in 1950.Favourite camera was an Exakta Varex.Switched to digital around 1998. My favourite subjects are sailing ships, ocean liners, the sea, forest,mountains..maybe I should just say "nature". In the past I've written articles for a number of magazines, illustrating them with my own photos. I love photographing whatever appeals to me or happens to catch my eye. Almost all of my images are of Canada, though I probably specialize more on the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts and the...
