Born and raised in New York City, Miriam Cintron was captivated by photography the minute she shot that first photograph as a pre-teen. "The first thing I did with my first pay check at around age 19 was purchase an Olympus 35 mm camera', she states. Up until then she had been using her dad's Leica and any other camera she could get her hands on, including inexpensive flash cube cameras that were popular back in the late 60's and early 70's. Candid photography was her first passion and she almost obsessively captured images of people and performers. "I never went anywhere without a camera".
