Ohio is so fertile, it is the heart of America, it is America. you can see it in the way this barn over looks the earth, takes care of the land. the farmers have changed, the animals have changed, the very soil has changed an there the barn stays looking over and caring for the land. our America.

I often stop to look at a object for a while. People sometimes find me strange because I’ll study the way light wraps around and through a glass; separates into the colors and comes back into white light. I get lost studying how decay acts upon the rusty and the broken, at how reflections bounce from one object to another. My joy and my art derive from what I see there, in the in-between. The little lives behind the surface of things. That all things, people, and places house these sorts of spirits, layers of their respective histories. A coat of paint, for example, on an old building, is not just a coat of paint. When I see the chips in the layers I am reminded that each layer was painted because someone had hoped that a business...
