HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JUEL! Yesterday my husband Juel and I celebrated our anniversary, and this is the card I made and gave to him. The message inside is for him alone, but I can share the drawing with you all. Juel is the most wonderful, loving and supportive husband any artist could dream of. He's comes with me all over the mountains and valleys so I can sketch, photograph, and paint to my heart's content. And when I'm working at home, he often fixes meals and always washes the dishes!
About Dawn Senior-Trask
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...
