Storm clouds form at dusk over the eastern shore of Mono Lake. The tufa in the foreground is formed by the interaction of underwater springs rich in calcium that mix with the carbonates in the lake and precipates calcium carbonate or the limestone towers. The towers were exposed as the lake level fell when the water was diverted to Los Angeles, California.

I took a photography class when I was in junior high school, but never really took any other classes or schooling in photography after that. Instead, after learning the basics, I photograph what I find pleasing. I prefer to photograph nature, ghost towns and the unusual. Whenever I can, I head off into the great unknown in search of photographic possibilities. I prefer the deserts of the American Southwest.
