This is a watercolor painting that I did from a photograph. I really enjoyed painting this and used an impressionistic style to capture most of the image. I especially hold this painting dear to my heart because of 3 reasons. When I was a girl, I would go pick black berries in the fields near New Orleans and I also won a first place ribbon on this painting in the professional watercolor category at my hometown of Glenwood Springs, Co Fall Art Festival. My mother would also make apricot fruit leather every fall that we would eat on the chairlift when skiing in the winter. Hello and Welcome to my on-line Art Gallery. I am an Award Winning Denver, Colorado Artist who was born in Soulful Louisiana and raised between 2 fun brothers in the outdoors of the Rocky Mountains near Aspen, Colorado. I like to say I am a girl with Southern Roots and Mountain Spirits! I find it somewhat humorous that my name means "Reborn Oak Tree". And also because I found out what my name meant after I painted my best selling print "Tree of Life".
I graduated in the top 2 portfolios of my class from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver. I started doodling and drawing since I could hold a pencil. I started painting in early childhood since my mother was an artist too. I was also inspired by Beatrix Potter, Walt Disney, nature...
