Summers End by Terry Fleckney

This was created using a variety of my photographs and given a textured background. I started out wanting to make a picture of a tree in fall foliage and the image took off on its own from there. In real life, the pathway is found at the bottom of my garden in Alberta, Canada; the horses are down in Texas, the tree is in the Rocky Mountains, but its roots are in Texas. As always, the stars are in the sky!

My life is divided between the prairies of Southern Alberta and the hill country of Texas. Wherever I am, I feel like I have left a small piece of myself behind. I live with my husband and two dogs, a Chinese shar-pei and a long haired dachshund. When in Texas a day’s fun is wandering along the dry dusty country roads of the hill country, and when in Alberta we love to get out into the mountains to soak up some of their beauty and majesty. My interest in photography goes back a long ways. My father was a painter and a sculptor and taught me to look for the beauty all around us. My favorite uncle was an amateur photographer who taught me at 6 years old to hand tint some of his early sepia toned photographs. I remember at a very young...
