Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
When artists paint, some have trouble with the blank canvas. It is the getting started that is hard. Even with inspiration, the way to begin is often intangible. This painting was no different. Several false starts, lots of texture, layers of color, and finally letting go of what is right and what might be wrong. Instinct takes over. Van Gogh's sunflowers, now famous, may have begun in a similar manner, at least I like to think so.
The original painting was created on a gallery canvas with plenty of thick texture, loose brush work, and artist quality acrylic paint which helps express the free form of these iconic blooms.
