A meandering stream flows gently by an old tree. This painting is done in wax on board. Encaustic (wax) is an ancient form of specialty painting rendered with molten beeswax, resin, and color pigment. It is applied with various tools in a controlled, heated application.
About Ruth Stromswold
The classic beauty of Dutch and Flemmish paintings has always motivated me to achieve a similar style in my own work.
