I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

An F/A-18E Super Hornet lifts off in afterburner at NAF El Centro at the start of a training mission. This aircraft is attached to Strike Fighter Squadron 106, The Gladiators. VFA-106 is the East Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron. The Gladiators mission is to train Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18 Replacement Pilots and Weapon Systems Officers (WSOs) to support fleet commitments. Every 6 weeks, a class of between 8-12 newly-winged Navy and Marine Corps pilots and Naval Flight Officers begins the 9 month training course in which they learn the basics of air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, culminating in day/night carrier qualification and subsequent assignment to fleet Hornet squadrons. On this day, I had the unique privilege to shoot airfield operations from the runway. NAF El Centro periodically invites photographers to a "photocall" where we can capture up close and personal images of the Navy's daily operations. My folks and grandparents took a good number of photos and sometimes let me take a picture with their Brownie and Brownie Reflex cameras. I got my fist camera in 1971 as a birthday present. It was a Kodak 110 Instamatic - that little camera went everywhere with me and I would do extra chores and odd jobs to pay for film, flash cubes and processing! For High School graduation my folks bought me a 35mm Pentax ME along with a 50mm and a 135mm lens. I was quite active in photography for many years in the late 70's and into the 80's. I took some photography classes in college at UC Santa Barbara and got to borrow a couple really long...
