Susan B. Anthony 1820 to 1906 was an educational reformer, Abolitionist, Labor Activist, Temperance Worker, Suffrage, and Womens Rights Campaigner. She famously said, Failure is impossible. The painting shows a program from her Procession to Washington to get women the right to vote, her stamp, the Susan B. Anthony silver dollar, the set of buildings where Anthony had her offices, and a symbol of the opposition showing the National Association against Womens Suffrage.
Susan B. Anthony was born in Massachusetts to a Quaker family with activist moral traditions and a sense of justice. FINDING INSPIRATION TO CREATE FINE ART Nature is an inspiration for many of Jans paintings. She feels encouraged to paint by her surroundings at home in Trabuco Canyon. There are four huge Live Oaks on her property and people have horses, a goat and chickens nearby. There are about a hundred homes in this rural California community at an elevation of about 500 feet at the base of Saddleback Mountain.
