A pencil on paper portrait of Vasyl Symonenko, a well known 20th century Ukrainian poet, journalist, activist of dissident movement. The works and early death of Vasyl Symonenko had an enormous impact on the rise of the national democratic movement in Ukraine. Modern Cherkasy is seen in the background.
I encourage you to read more about him and if not share with others than at least expand your own knowledge in this subject. An influential person even at his early age, then and now, an early death encouraged by the government, a voice that was thought to be silenced, but only made stronger.
