This is a print of an original pastel work. It started out as a study in light and shadow in a portrait, but it came along well so I finished it by giving it a bit more of a mood and mystery. Finding the right color for the shirt was a bit of a challenge, but once I brought those reflective colors into her face as well it all came together. I used conte crayon for the detail work in the face and hair, and tried to keep the actual pastel work softened and delicate. The original has won several awards and for now is not for sale.
