It was a pretty miserable late afternoon at Tappan Bridge, also known as Kittle Bridge, a wooden covered bridge in the town of Hardenburgh in Ulster County, New York. I wasn't quite sure how I had stumbled upon this bridge. The directions I had were pretty poor, but miraculously they led me right to the Forge Bridge about a mile away! However with the bad weather, the lateness of the afternoon, and the sudden loss of any GPS signal at all, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to retrace my steps! I'd been warned away from trespassing on the Forge Bridge so I looked VERY carefully here for any POSTED signs but there weren't any...which makes sense since this is still a 'working' bridge. And then I was cold. All I could think of was NOT staying in a fleabag motel and having a decent hot shower! But I perservered, umbrella in one hand shielding my camera from the rain.
