"The Aqueduct" is a made up interior structure that was inspired by the work of Italian artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi, who was famous for his etchings of Rome and of fictitious and atmospheric prisons, or "carabinieri" series. Made up of hundreds of thousands of linear strokes, the viewer sees a moment in time in the creation of this cavernous underground water carrying system.
Sean Hagan has been painting and illustrating professionally for over 15 years. Jazz musicians and wine are central themes in his work. Currently he is exploring abstract art combined with jazz elements, as seen in "Club de Jazz, 2011". Also new this year are some pieces that are purely digital, such as "The Jazz Trio", which was created with Photoshop and Flash. He works out of his home studio on the North Shore.
