When will I get my order???
A wide range of emotions is exhibited by the babies in this painting - from curiosity to excitement to surprise and delight! I composed this painting of toddlers watching soap bubbles floating in the air using four separate photographs of children of our friends and family as reference. The babies are actually years apart in age. It was quite the challenge to arrange the toddlers in the group so that it looked natural and not contrived, hiding the leg of one behind another so that they looked as though they were actually sitting together.
Another challenge was to place the bubbles in the scene in the proper perspective so that it looked like each child was concentrating his (or her) focus on one of them. In the actual photos that I used as reference, there were no bubbles and I had no idea what the children were captivated by. The bubbles, impressionistic background and little wooden train were unifying factors. This is a popular print for a Pediatrician's office.
