Artist's Description

The one-and-a-half story framed Dow Home was built circa 1910-1912 in the American Queen Anne style, which has its roots in the English Queen Anne style. Distinctive features of the Dow Home indigenous to the Queen Anne style are the asymmetrical facade, the dominant front-facing cantilevered gable, the overhanging eaves, the porch covering the front facade and primary entrance, the differing patterned wood siding (note the scalloped shingle siding on the front gable), the classic columns, dentils (on the front entrance door and sidelights), and most notably the round tower turret on the porch roof. Two movies were filmed at this location: the 1987 production of "A Tiger's Tale," starring Ann-Margret, and the 1997 production of the TV movie "Hope," directed by Goldie Hawn.

Eventually, the hand drafting became dormant until a few years ago when a family member, who loves everything...
