About the Image

The Dreamer by Benjamin Yeager

An American hero, a visionary, a champion of justice and fairness, a nonviolent resister, a dreamer. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was tragically murdered in 1968 but not before his dream of a nation blind to skin color was set in motion and carried itself through to the end despite his being called home. His legacy is honored by streets named for him in almost every city, a beautiful monument in Washington DC, a federal holiday in his honor. But his legacy is most visible in the way persons of any color can pursue their interests with no racial barriers to stop them. Original image of Dr. King from 1964 courtesy of the Library of Congress. It has been painstakingly touched up to provide you the sharpest modern print.
