Susan Bornstein

I was intent on learning how to make pottery on the wheel, so I went to the local art school and took a ceramics class. I did indeed learn to throw ware on the potter's wheel but more than that, I learned about Creative Process. I was taught to execute certain, specific actions that would set in motion a process, that involved earth, air, fire and water, and created beauty. I was not to try to play a larger role than the Process allowed me. My job was, mostly, to watch the unfolding of the creation of something, by an energy I felt all around me and was part of. I soon deduced that this Process underlay everything in life and have sought the skills to feed the Creative Process in everything that I do. My hope is that my artwork...
