Julian is a quaint historical country town located about an hours drive in the mountain foothills east of San Diego. It was the only gold mining town founded in the area. Today it is a vacation and tourist area that is reminiscent of the coastal foothills located toward central California. There are a few wineries along with some long established ranches and farms with some beautiful countryside and small lakes for fishing and camping. A wonderful and relaxing place that is noted for it's apple pies!
