This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product, and the gift recipient loved it and brought them to tears as it was a sentimental gift.

About Brian Wallace
I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau. I'm talking about something I read on a group just for administrators... I don't recall the particular group that it was referring to. I understand that group administrators are apparently getting too many images to handle. I suppose that's a sign that FAA is becoming more popular which should be a good thing. It will be interesting to see how things progress from here on.
Kristin Elmquist
Welcome, Brian. Are you referring to the group administrators here on this site, or the administrators of the entire site? I only ask because I haven't seen any mention of it in the groups I'm in, nor info on the site. I have noticed that the number of images uploaded to this site has increased exponentially over the last several months. I totally agree with you - there can be an inherent difference in mood when an image is b&w vs. color.
Brian Wallace
Thank you Kristin. I often can't decide between the color or B&W, so I include both versions. I read where some groups want to further limit your images to just one version. To me, they are very serparate as far as artistic value but all of a sudden they're doing everything they can to cut down on posts to groups. If they want to limit images, I would rather see something like they have on Flickr... It just won't allow you to go beyond the set image per day and if you go over the limit, it automatically stops the entry and gives you a message why.
Kristin Elmquist
Beautiful shot, Brian. I also like the b&w version as it reminds me of an Ansel Adams.
