This painting of a yellow lily was painted in early autumn as the last of the lilies in my backyard were fading. Their beautiful colors had blessed me all summer long, so I clipped one last bloom, brought it into my studio and studied its architecture. A shadow produced by the light of a window gathered on the wall behind the bloom. That is where my inspiration began. I suppose it was a little bit of dreaming that kept me going.
The original painting was created with oil paints on a stretched canvas. It makes its home with a buyer from Minnesota.

I am a visual artist living in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest. My artistic life began at a very young age when I was introduced to oil painting in elementary school. Throughout my life I have explored various other media. I enjoy using oils, acrylics, watercolor, inks, and digital tools. My subjects range from traditional to abstract. As long as I am creating, I'm happy.
