"The Mantle" was created to depict four different attempts to drawing. It sectioned as pen, colored pencil, cross-hatch shading and blend shading. It won Winchester, N.H.'s first and only town art exhibition. It has gone on to receive honorable mentions at Mt. Wachusett's annual art exhibit, Won the Cheshire County Art Competition. Several copies have been sold from 5"x8" to 40"x52". I created this when I was a junior in high school. The original sold in 2011. After so many years, it was hard to let it go.
Raised in a small farm town in New Hampshire, Donald Jones, an artist who has become well-known locally for his work. He won a county wide art competition at the age of seventeen with a still-life watercolor painting. Selling custom illustrations and portraits at a young age, aside of an abundance of competitions won and honorable mentions, he is now being recognized. Unfortunately, life has been rough in recent years. His house burnt down losing all of his work including; those in which won previous competitions. Not three years later, cancer(A.L.L) hit him by surprise. After two years of intensive chemotherapy he went into remission.
