About the Image

The pirates make home port by R W Goetting

The pirates return to their hidden cove, just ahead of the approaching storm. Once again they have lightened the load of a Spanish Galleon to their own benefit. Roughly painted in deep blue, violet, crimson and fire yellow.

About the Artist - R W Goetting

R W Goetting

R. W. Goetting is a third generation Californian born in Sacramento who has painted scenes from California and around the world for nearly forty years. He has had the opportunity to study the artwork of master painters in London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris, Florence and Rome. Although his focus has been Central California and its beautiful coastline, his trips to Europe have provided a new dimension to his art in terms of subject matter and application. Bob works primarily on canvas in oil over acrylic. He has used this technique for twenty five years, allowing for interesting textural possibilities and complex color layers
