I was commissioned by artist, Janice Rae Pariza, to draw from a photo that she took of her very loved and missed dogs, Cowboy (the Cane Corso) and Maile.
They were rescues, and when Janice took them in she saved them. Only the story doesn't end there, they also saved her.
When Janice found Cowboy, he had a bullet in his head, his ears and tail were cut off and he weighed only 45 pounds. After many happy years by Janice's side, Cowboy left this world a happy, healthy, 200 pound dog. A dog with a family that loved him. When he passed away, Maile followed shortly after- from a broken heart. It's a heart wrenching story, but it's also an endearing story of love.

Sarah draws realistically, in graphite and colored pencil. Her work covers a wide variety of subjects including: animals, portraits, florals, and still-life. She specializes in drawing custom portraits of pets and people. While Sarah prefers to draw photo-realistic images in black and white, she has recently begun doing the same with colored pencil. Her angels series has also been a joy to create. They are a unique and whimsical, contemporary take on divine presence.
In addition to artistic inclination, Sarah was born with a life-threatening form of muscular dystrophy, called Mitochondrial Disease (Mito). Despite feeling progressively weakened and diminished by Mito, she has been able to grow and strengthen her artistic talent. ...
