About the Image

The Weird and Wonderful by Tammy Watt

This is my third painting for the, "Love Lies Bleeding" Ballet competition. Apparently the song, Bennie and the Jets is about a popular style of dress in the 70's called, "Glam Rock". This style was defined by outrageous outfits and gaudy sunglasses and in the song, an extension of Elton's personality. I depicted the ballet dancers from the Alberta Ballet dancing to Bennie and the Jets. Since I'm painting an Elton song, I had to throw in a piano.

About the Artist - Tammy Watt

Tammy Watt

I paint to feel more alive, more energetic and more spiritually connected to something greater than myself. I envision my projects but understand the moment my loaded brush hits the canvas my painting takes on a life all of its own. I try to stay out of my head and let the decisions come from a divine source. My work is always with me, moving and eager to find its way into the world. I aspire to let life feed my art and to remain open, receptive and responsive to the moment.
