... An old railroad tracks and trestle, captured in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee... High in the Smokies, this railway heads into the Cherokee National Forest around the Hiwassee Gorge Loop on the L&N line. The train is a scenic tourist train and winds it's way through the Smoky Mountains to view the scenery, the trails, the rivers, lakes, and mountains. This spot overlooks the Apalachia Dam and Lake and travels through tunnels and gorges of granite rock and forests. In the autumn, the colors are gorgeous and the ride is especially beautiful.
