This large oil painting took several months to complete. I started with a grisaille layer and gradually built several layers of fine oil glaze to give an almost transucent finish of colour, enhancing the depth and tone of the painting and setting the mood of an eagle in night flight admidst a violent stormy background. Native American culture refers to the Eagle as the thunder bird, Eagles were believed to be invulnerable to lightning and so in many cultures they often use to hang eagles above their doors to protect their homes from storms and evil spirits.
As a Fine Artist I produce artwork for exhibition and on commission. Figurative art and portraiture; produced using traditional media is a specialty.
