Tiger 104 P-40E Warhawk
Maj. Edward Rector became a double ace in the Pacific theater with a confirmed score of 10.5 victories against Japan. Edward Rector had earlier been assigned to the U.S.S. Ranger when he received an offer to sign up with the American Volunteer Group (AVG). In 1941, Edward Rector scored the first air-to-air combat victory for the 23rd Fighter Group.
Edward Rector would later command Gen. Claire Chennault's China Task Force (76th Squadron) and would return to China in 1945 to claim is last aerial victory.
His decorations included the Legion of Merit and the British Distinguished Flying Cross for actions in Rangoon.
