Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

Artist's Description
It was a commissioned mural and I am in awe of the "Chief Designer/Train Engineer's vision.. all along the 90 feet of wall space, he would have notes on the infrastructure ( that doubled as scaffolding while I worked) The indicators would show where a canyon would be or in this case a road to "Lost Wages," (Las Vegas) and where tunnels would be going.. all in his head and I only had to make up landscape to go along the 90 feet.. My contribution to this train room is a 3ft x 90 ft. long series of panel painting of a desert scape. Our desert, here, is surrounded on both sides by mountains and they meet at the pass between Mt San Gorgonio and Mt. San Jacinto. Once the backdrop was painted, these intricately designed villages, sifted decomposed granite to act as gravel along the tracks. In this section, Ralph's first plane is in the sky, a small oasis in the distance, his passion for autos has one coming through the tunnel with an expected train about to pass on top. This segment of th...

Maria Hunt After 30 years as a successful business woman, Maria Hunt, finding the nest empty, and having fulfilled her role as financial contributor, retired to the Palm Springs area, pursuing her childhood dream of studying and creating art. She started in 2000 with art classes at College of the Desert. Every minute of the project was a thrill. I probably repainted twice over with all the changes I wanted to make.. It was a pleasure to work with the Chief Designer and his Bride who came up with such wonderful ideas for incorporating details that brought it to life.

Thank you Joe. It was a commissioned mural and I am in awe of his vision.. all along the 90 feet of wall space, he would have notes on the infrastructure ( that doubled as scaffolding while I worked) The indicators would show where a canyon would be or in this case a road to "Lost Wages," (Las Vegas) and where tunnels would be going.. all in his head and I only had to make up landscape where villages would be or such.

To Correct the comment below: the car's lights are painted to look like they are on.. There is no switch to turn them on and off. I thought they were controlled like the trains.. Oops. - My bad! *.~

I am going to load more of the pictures on Facebook. This is amazing work.. the car's lights can be turned on and off with a switch. I think I need to get in and paint the tubing that forms the tunnel. He actually strained the granite to get the right color gravel along the train tracks, then covered it with watered down glue to make it stay put. The road to Las Vegas comes out of the tunnel in the back and narrows as it gets farther away. The tiny oasis is for real.. it is where the San Andreas Fault runs through the desert.

GEE Whiz, Maria. that is really something - a bit difficult to grasp at first. how cool! L
