What caught my eye here, was the interesting play of the winter tree shadows on the usual white-washed walls of the buildings found in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. Stellenbosch is a university town, but much of the architecture stems from the early Dutch influence, and the lanes of simple cottage y white and thatched buildings is most common. Keeping it simple and only one colour , I felt accentuated,the zebra-like shadows on the walls
..Having been born and brought up in Malawi,Central Africa, and now living in Cape Town I have always been humbled by the vast canvas and the infinite palette of hues, shades and colors that Mother Earth so reverently offers us. As much as the forever changing expansive skies, the never ending kaleidoscope of land and water, so too am I inspired by the fragility and expression of humankind, and it is all of these that form the basis of my subject material.
Although I have had no formal tuition, I have always been involved in artistic endeavors, and for the past 9 years have been under the mentor ship of two well-known Cape Town artists, who have encouraged and guided me while at the same time allowing me my own style and expression....
