A brass band parade is a very common sight in New Orleans - for any occasion, large or small. Quite often parading through the narrow side streets, many parade-goers follow the main band down the street, just enjoying the music and dancing in the street behind the band, twirling decorated parasols and waiving handkerchiefs in the air. They are call the second line - or second lining - just like a jazz funeral, but without a body!
A New Orleans artist, I paint the New Orleans life with its colorful streets, serene bayous and unique food in paintings filled with light and color. I was born and raised in New Orleans and still live in New Orleans, across Lake Pontchartrain, on the North Shore. I received my art education at McCrady School of Fine Art in the French Quarter and have been an artist for 30+ years.
