Upper Duck Pond is the second version of the same subject from the 1995 A Day in the Park Series. Two children stand at the edge of the pond feeding and watching the swans and ducks. Stark white in the swan feathers is repeated in highlights throughout the painting from the light on the kids' hair and clothing to the rocks and ripples on the water. The quiet of the figures contrasts with the activity in the water. Nice gift!
