I was born with pencil and paper in my hand, and formal training began when at the young age of 7 my parents got me a private art instructor. I used oil paints exclusively until after my college years. It was in the early 1990's that I discovered Prismacolor pencils, and a love affair was born. They are my main medium now, although I will occasionally work with acrylic paint or even pastels when the mood strikes. I have to admit to having a love-hate relationship with watercolor as a medium. I love to use them, but the formal oil painter in me hates the process.
